Eastbound I-465 ramps are expected to remain open this weekend.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – With waves of rain moving across central Indiana this weekend, the scheduled eastbound I-465 restrictions on the city’s southwest side have been postponed until later this month. The following ramps will remain open this weekend, but will close temporarily when the eastbound restrictions occur:

  • I-70 eastbound to I-465 southbound
  • S.R 67 (Kentucky Avenue) to eastbound I-465
  • Mann Road to eastbound I-465
  • S.R. 37 (Harding Street) to eastbound I-465

Crews shifted westbound I-465 into a temporary configuration and installed a long-term closure at the U.S. 31 (East Street) southbound ramp to westbound I-465 earlier this month to begin the next phase of I-69 Finish Line: widening I-465. Click here to view graphics of the upcoming restrictions.

One week of preparations is needed for each of the directional shifts, which require multiple days of fair weather to allow crews to move barricades, lay temporary pavement and place pavement markings.

About I-69 Finish Line
I-69 Finish Line is the sixth and final section of the Interstate 69 connection between Evansville and Indianapolis. The project will upgrade the existing S.R. 37 to interstate standards between Martinsville and Indianapolis.

Governor Eric Holcomb’s Next Level Connections program fully funded the project and accelerated construction by three years. I-69 Finish Line is expected to open to traffic in late 2024, improving safety and reducing travel time.
