Project office is now open

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (Nov. 1, 2019) – The new I-69 Finish Line project office offers one more way for visitors to follow progress on the project and have their questions answered. The office is staffed daily by Project Team members available to answer questions and share information. The location will be familiar to many in the area. The new office shares the same parking lot as the previous project office..

INDOT to share I-69 Section 6 Updates

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (Oct. 3, 2019) – The Indiana Department of Transportation will host a series of public meetings later this month to provide updates on the sixth and final section of I-69 construction between Evansville and Indianapolis. The project will upgrade existing State Road 37 to interstate standards from Martinsville to Indianapolis.

I-69 Section 6 construction activity kicks off in Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (March 8, 2019) – Warmer weather means construction on I-69 Section 6 will begin in earnest next week. On Monday, Milestone Contractors and subcontractor crews will be in Martinsville clearing trees and brush, placing erosion control and preparing right-of-way for future bridge and roadway construction.

New East-West Road Construction To Begin Next Month

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (Jan. 28, 2019) — Indiana Department of Transportation officials met with contractor representatives, design consultants and the Martinsville city engineer this morning at Seymour District offices to launch a $21.7 million project for new road and bridge construction to provide east-west access over Interstate 69/State Road 37 at Martinsville.

I-69 Section 5 to be at interstate speed on Monday, Nov. 5

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Nov. 2, 2018) – Over the weekend crews will begin pulling barrels off of mainline I-69 and uncovering speed limit signs throughout the corridor. Motorists can anticipate interstate speeds beginning on Monday, November 5. The speed limit will be 55 miles per hour in Bloomington proper between Rockport Road and Kinser Pike, a distance of just under eight miles.

Holcomb outlines Next Level Connections program

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (Sept. 4, 2018) – Gov. Eric J. Holcomb today announced his infrastructure agenda plan for 2019, including a new $1 billion investment in infrastructure projects. The Next Level Connections program will expand broadband services in rural Indiana, grow the state’s systems of trails, create more nonstop international flights, and move up the completion of major highway projects. The state also will continue to pursue building a new fourth water port at Lawrenceburg and expansion of rail projects in northwest Indiana.

Design elements for I-69 in Martinsville announced

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (June 28, 2018) – The city of Martinsville and INDOT today unveiled conceptual design elements for the Martinsville segment of I-69 Section 6, which starts just south of Indian Creek and ends one mile north of State Road 44. The design concepts include visual representations of an entrance monument, sound and retaining walls, and bridge and overpass elements.

INDOT Releases I-69 Section 6 Final Environmental Impact Statement

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 8, 2018) – The final leg of Interstate 69 in Indiana is a step closer to completion with the release of the Tier 2 Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and Record of Decision (ROD) for I-69 Section 6. In addition to increasing economic activity in the Martinsville to Indianapolis corridor, I-69 Section 6 will improve safety and travel times for motorists.
