I-69 Finish Line was 75-years in the making, a puzzle piece that connects Evansville to Indianapolis with 142 miles of new interstate. The final 26-mile Finished Line project was divided up by the Indiana Department of Transportation into six contract, with Contract 2 focusing on 6 miles of State Road 37 in Martinsville. Contract 2 was the only contract along the 142 miles that had to remove an existing highway that passed through a city and replace it with an interstate.
“The Grand Valley Boulevard project being recognized as one of the top projects in the country is an absolute honor,” Governor Eric J. Holcomb said. “This is a testament to the State of Indiana’s commitment to improving quality of life and helping to develop towns, cities and communities across the state through infrastructure.”
