2023 – A Year of Monumental Progress!
We want to take a moment and celebrate the heartbeat of I-69 Finish Line – the incredible people and partnerships that make it all possible.
Together, we’re more than a project; we’re a community that supports one another. As we work toward our end goals, we extend our thanks to every individual and partner involved.
To our community, thank you for your patience as we build the newest interstate in the nation. I-69 Finish Line is on track to open to traffic by the end of 2024. The finish line is in sight!

Driving in Construction Zones
While winter weather persists, construction progress is continuing as we get closer to the Finish Line.
As a friendly reminder, please drive safely and stay alert, especially in construction zones. Distracted driving and speeding can lead to serious crashes that could otherwise be prevented if these simple, yet impactful steps are taken behind the wheel. Put the phone down, reduce your speed and drive safely!
Below is a list of construction-related activities happening on I-69 Finish Line this week:
Bridge Demolition
- The existing I-465 bridge structure above Meridian Street has been removed. Demolition work will continue on the bridge over the White River for the next couple of weeks. This work is not expected to impact traffic. Please slow down and stay focused while driving in and near this construction zone.
Overhead Sign Structures
- Anticipate nightly lane closures on I-465 EB and WB, near Mann Road and Lick Creek, to install overhead sign structures. Both single and double-lane closures are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 29 through Wednesday, Jan. 31 between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., while work is in progress. Please be advised that this work is weather dependent and may be delayed due to inclement weather.
Bridge Beam Setting
- Anticipate nightly ramp closures for bridge beam placement at US 31 (East Street) to I-465 WB beginning Tuesday, Jan. 30 through Wednesday, Jan. 31 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Please be advised that this work is weather dependent and may be delayed due to inclement weather.
Pothole Repair
- Crews are actively repairing potholes within the I-69 Finish Line work zone and may implement intermittent lane closures or traffic stoppages on asphalt portions of I-465. The majority of restrictions are expected overnight between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. but are also possible during the day.
