On Track Project Update: September 27, 2021

  • Ennis Road and New Harmony Road have reopened southeast of the temporary State Road 37 signal in Green Township. Local traffic has a three-way stop and must yield to drivers exiting S.R. 37. Crews will monitor the intersection and make changes if traffic backups block S.R. 37.
  • Watch for increased truck traffic as concrete is poured for new pavement and bridge decks. Pouring the northbound bridge deck over Crooked Creek, just north of Perry Road, is scheduled for Tuesday and the I-69 bridge decks over Ohio Street are expected next week.
  • Expect stopped traffic on S.R. 39 near the railroad crossing in Martinsville between 8 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday. Railroad contractors plan to flag traffic to perform pavement repairs at the crossing.
  • Watch for S.R. 252 traffic to shift north onto new pavement in the coming weeks. Road crews are building the permanent roadway crossing at the future I-69 and the future roundabouts for entrance and exit ramps.
  • The left lane of S.R. 37 northbound is scheduled to close during the day on or after Thursday. Crews will be installing beams to widen the bridge over Honey Creek.
  • A new access road connecting Fairview Road with Bluffdale Road and McCarty Mulch is expected to open in a couple of weeks, allowing Bluff Road access to S.R. 37 to close permanently near Angel Animal Hospital. Click to view a map of the new access roads in the area.
  • It’s fall in Indiana! Please slow down and drive with caution through the work zone during heavy rains. Temporary traffic patterns change the roadway drainage and may make it hard to see standing water.
  • Nighttime I-465 lane closures are winding down near construction to replace the Keystone Avenue overpass. Eastbound and westbound traffic now shift right toward the outside shoulder to allow pile driving and other work to continue for new bridge piers and footers.
  • The new access road and bridge could open as early as next week connecting Wicker Road with Glenns Valley Lane west of S.R. 37. It will allow Glenns Valley Lane to close permanently at S.R. 37 near the Methodist church.
  • In the coming weeks, expect to see work gearing up north of Southport Road and Epler Avenue. Crews will begin moving dirt, installing temporary concrete barriers and installing temporary pavement for I-69 construction.

The actual starting date and duration for work and any closures may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen activities occur.
