Single lane closure at Carson Avenue for shoulder cleanup

INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 12, 2022) – Motorists should anticipate nighttime 20-minute stoppages early this week on I-465 between State Road 37 and Harding Street.

Utility crews will be working on power lines as part of the I-69 Finish Line project on Monday through Wednesday. Intermittent traffic stoppages between 11 p.m. – 4 a.m. will allow for the safe removal of the existing lines. Motorists should slow down and stay alert as traffic conditions could change rapidly.

Once the existing lines have been removed and replaced with new ones, crews will begin installing a new traffic signal at the Mann Road bridge.

Motorists can also expect a single-lane closure on I-465 at Carson Avenue as road crews work to clean up the shoulders. Nightly lane closures along I-465 will remain in place as crews continue to remove median barrier walls near Harding Street.

About I-69 Finish Line
I-69 Finish Line is the sixth and final section of the Interstate 69 connection between Evansville and Indianapolis. The project will upgrade the existing S.R. 37 to interstate standards between Martinsville and Indianapolis.

Governor Eric Holcomb’s Next Level Connections program fully funded the project and accelerated construction by three years. I-69 Finish Line is expected to open to traffic in late 2024, improving safety and reducing travel time.
